Vann was raised in Monroe, NC. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, and began his career in Greensboro, NC, where he lived for 25 years. In 2004, he and his wife, Laura, and son, Matt, moved to Georgetown, SC, drawn to the area by the history and coastal waters. Settled by the British in 1732, Georgetown is the third oldest city in SC. After a career in specialty millwork, working with contractors, architects, homeowners, and decorators, he opened a General Store on Front Street-Georgetown. Operating out of his circa 1849 building, he served boaters, tourists, and locals. A good time was had by all! Getting back to his construction roots, he decided to renew his real estate license, after having one back in NC. Now, in Murrells Inlet, he is getting a new taste of the coast, with our beautiful creeks and marshes. His wife, Laura, is the Lead Nurse for the Georgetown County School District. His son, Matt, a 2018 UVA graduate, is a financial analyst for Simmons Energy in Houston, Texas.
