After 35 years of working for multi-national manufacturing companies as a senior financial executive helping with driving strategy, performance and acquisitions and logging more than 2.5 million miles visiting countries around the world I retired to South Carolina.  Over the past 35 years I have bought and sold 13 homes as I moved around the country.  In every instance I trusted a real estate agent to see me through the entire process, and all were successful because of that partnership.  As I considered transitioning my career I reflected on those relationships and wanted to be able to provide that same level of service to others. Having lived in several regions across South Carolina, I chose Pawleys Island for its distinctive blend of coastal charm, community feel, and enduring appeal. As a full-time resident coupled with my financial background strengths, I’ve gained a thorough understanding of the local market, neighborhoods, and lifestyle, which allows me to provide clients with informed, tailored guidance as they navigate their real estate decisions.  In the Spring of 2025, I joined my wife, Karen Lappas to form The Lappas DeVoe Team, to ensure all clients have plenty of support throughout the buying and/or selling process.
